How far away is mars?

Answers

Depends when you ask the question! When Mars is closest to Earth (so both planets on the same side of the Sun, it can be 0.53 AU away. When MArs is furthest away from Earth - on the opposite side of the Sun - it can be as much as 2.5 AU away.
