Why is my bread heavy

I just got a new breadmaker. My bread is very heavy (tasting). Is there any way to make it lighter and fluffier? Thanks you.

Hi, Try adding extra gluten to the flour.You can find it in a health food store. Also, make sure the yeast is fresh. A warm place for the dough to rise is best(75-80 degrees). Good Luck, Tony
