Hannibal

Hey, I just saw Hannibal, and I absolutely loved it. I think in some ways, it was better than the original (I actually think Julianne Moore was better suited to this movie's Clarice Starling). I think some of the recurring themes were interesting, like with the fan blades and the boar, although the intellectualism was really tempered for mass consumption this time around. Are you going to see it? If you saw it, did you like it? What did you think of the notoriously gory last five minutes?

Are you insane?

I haven't seen it yet, but I want to, even though the reviews I've seen have mostly been either bad or lukewarm. I read the book and I thought it was pretty entertaining, although the characters seemed really different to me from how they were portrayed in the "Silence of the Lambs" movie (I didn't read the Silence book). I heard that the "Hannibal" movie has a different end from the book, though.

So, in short, I will probably go see it, but I will go in with fairly low expectations. With Julianne Moore and Anthony Hopkins, how bad can it be?
