What should I look for?

greenspun.com : LUSENET : Repossession : One Thread

I received my SAR from my chaser and frankly - well what am I looking for? There's nothing on it! Just copies of letters they already sent to me and a very very sketchy (no details) chain of events which basically says things like, 'letter sent' and 'letter received'. I know all this so please can someone advise me as to what I should be looking for. I've got loads of pages which are basically computer print outs with my name on the top but no other information - just blank pages from a computer programme. Help appreciated. Many thanks

Sorry, can I get this straight - are you saying you've actually been sent blank pages? Who on earth sent you these? (I would tell the DPC and ask her to investigate.)

Most people in my experience find out a great deal from their SARNs.

If there's information you don't understand, you have the right to get ask lender (or whoever provided the data) to explain it. In fact the lender should have explained any codes, abbeviations etc when it sent the data to you.

If you are saying that the lender doesn't seem to have sent you everything you asked for, or everything you think it probably does have on you, then tell the DPC and she will treat your case as a priority and investigate on your behalf. (www.dpa.org.uk).

What I actually received was copies of all the letters they have sent me since contact was established. From the other pages I have received it appears that they have a programme on their computer which they would use if and when I started making an offer - so i have pages with my name on it and print outs from their programme with just unticked blank boxes in it - e.g. offer made on date (blank) Offer accepted (blank) I & E completed (blank) and so on! Every single box is blank.

I forgot to add. This information was sent to me by the chasers who are working on behalf of the lender.

So who have you SARNed? The lender *and* the chaser? Or just the chaser?

Could you tell us who they are? People with experience of either might be able to help you.

Sorry, I see from another post that you'e already said your lender is Halifax.

Have you seen Tony Hayter's post below about getting information out of the Halifax? Could be useful for you.
