Neopan SS- Any experience?

greenspun.com : LUSENET : B&W Photo - Film & Processing : One Thread

I found 20 rolls of Neopan SS. Development options are virtually non-existent according to the box, and of various developers listed in the Massive Dev Chart, dev times with like developers listed in the chart for Neo400(indicated time change in parentheses), I see D-76(x0.9), D-76 1:1(x0.86),Ilfotec LC29 1:19 (0.83), Microdol X (x0.7), Perceptol(x0.64), Rodinal(x1.16)(?), Fuji's Super Prodol 1:1 (x1), and X-tol(x0.72). I realize that these are all very different developers, and comparing them is almost futile, but SS is not technically available in the US and would like some sort of direction. I am very open to suggestions, If youv'e got some experience with this emulsion.

Well, I received 10 rolls 135/36 Neopan SS from B&H and also found 135/24 in Toronto (Alt camera exchange). Fuji has a small pocket book for their films including all Neopan (SS, 400, 1600)and developing times. So far I only shoot one roll of Neopan SS, which is not available in Germany, and developed it in a two-bath developer based on catechin. The negatives were a little thick.

I developed mine in Sprint 1:9 for 10.6 minutes @ 20 C, and 9.6 minutes @22 C.

Sprint 1:9 = Dektol 1:1

Herr Kollig mentions a book or booklet from fuji about their films. Has anyone else come across this book before? If so what is its title, and would anyone know of where it can be obtained?

It's a data guide (booklet size) much like Kodak and Ilford produce, and should be available at any Fuji Pro Film stock dealer... t
