Acutol v Rodinal

I wonder if someone could help me. I used to use Paterson Acutol (FX14) a lot when I used films like Pan F and FP4 because of the acutance effect. It doesn't seem to be very popular now and even the manufacturer, Paterson, promotes FX39 in preference as a compensating developer(e.g. with Tech Pan). However, Rodinal, which is an even older formula than Acutol still seems popular. has anyone used both Rodinal and Acutol and able to compare.

Acutol is back out on the market. At least in my area, my dealer ordered some and gave me call, as she knew i was looking for the formula to mix from scratch.
