I would like to know how doula's coordinate payment with back up support. a). I will be out of town for 8 days while another doula will be on call for my client. Is there a going rate for these hours of coverage regardless if the back-up is ever called? I appreciate any insight on this topic of back-up support fees.

In the Bergen County, New Jersey area the going rate is $100.00 for the back-up whether her services are used or not. You as the primary Doula would recieve $200.00 of the total fee if you do not attend the birth. I hope this was helpful. Debbie Shaw
