Help the youth of the world?greenspun.com : LUSENET : Junkyard Wars : One Thread |
Hello fellow junkyard fans, let's do something for the kids watching the show. Here's where we might help:The neighborhood opportunities to explore mechanical junk just aren't what they used to be when we were kids. Its a shame isn't it? Yet, I've found that adults should NEVER UNDERESTIMATE WHAT A KID WITH DUCT TAPE AND A GLUE GUN CAN DO. If we come up with enough ideas and they make their way to the JYW, Nickelodeon, Disney, Popular Mechanics for Kids, etc. producer somewhere might put a show together with a JYW format. Kids don't need power tools to build boats, launchers, ramming devices, etc. What do you think? Let's get some ideas going.

A snowball launcher in Aukland? Now that's creative. The BP Challenge itself looks like it would be great to put on T.V. The site had a list of helpful resources that will be posted on a site currently under construction called Junkyard Science. Thanks Trevor!
