Au T3 or FeS2 ?

Mike,

I'm not sure if this is a "real Gold T3 or not... I DID find out about a Gold Hexar (120th Anniversary) and it also mentions the 100th Anniversary T3, but NO Au!

Gold Konica T3

Mike!

Somewhere in the back of my mind I recall a special number of T3's that were produced for top salesmen or other officials of Konica as a gift for them or their customers. I believe that this may be the one I heard about as it was not produced for sale. Somehow I recall one being on eBay about a year ago....

Gold T3

Mike.... looks like to me that someone just gold anodized all the aluminum parts and re-assembled it. If that is really the situation, you could have many different colors to match your mood. Red, green, blue, yellow(gold) etc., etc. Anodize takes on the hue of the substrate metal. Brushed will look like a satin finish whereas polished will look like a candy color!! All the colors will look metallic, though. ...........jim

Anodizing metal parts.

I had an old shiny metal filter from which I had removed the glass.I asked the guys in the plating shop in the company where I work to see if they colud strip it to remove the shine.Well they stripped it,and it came back with a slight yellow tinge, which indicated it was made of nickel.I'll ask the guys tomorrow if they could strip/anodize/passivate or what ever to change the colour of the camera body.I have thought about it previously, now I will find out and maybe remove the top and bottom of my old camera to see what effect it will have. Will let you know.

James Bond edition?

Just a possibility! :-)

Gold T3 = $1,834.00 USD

Well, if anyone is interested, here is the price for that Gold T3. I think it by indeed be gold (plated?):

The price of 11000f is in French money, for the US Dollars, it is to divide by more or less 6 11000 : 6 = 1834 US Dollars

Well, IMHO...

...without documentation or some credible story to go along with it, I'd consider it more FeS2 (Fool's Gold) than Au (GOLD).

More info on the Gold Konica T3-N. Read on

The seller has sent me some more information on it, so I put it up here with more pictures:

http://photobluebook.virtualave.net/BlueBook/PhotographyBlueBookKonicaSLR.htm#KonicaAutoreflexT3gold

So far, there isn't any reason why it is gold or why it is special in anyway (or anything to justify why its almost $2,000 USD).

The seller said: "model of origine réal gold (in French : plaqué or)" but I asked for clairification on what this means.
