Jason Euell

greenspun.com : LUSENET : Unofficial Newcastle United Football Club BBS : One Thread

We are again being linked with a move for Jason Euell, as reported on the IC website. He's currently the top scorer in Div 1, according to them but surely Saha and Hayles have scored more? (I'll check this)

IC seem to say he will arrive in the summer with a NUFC player going in the opposite direction.

What interests me is who would go in the opposite direction? None of our esteemed wantaways would go. Maybe one of our younger players? Glass or even Gallacher? Barton with a coaching role perhaps, but I doubt Robson would wish to sell him.

Nationwide Football League Division One

-----------------------L FA LC E O T

1 Saha Fulham ---------19 0 5 0 0 24

2 Ricketts Bolton -----17 2 1 0 0 20

3 Euell Wimbledon -----17 1 0 0 0 18

4 Hayles Fulham -------17 0 1 0 0 18

5 Hughes West Brom ----17 1 0 0 0 18

Must be having a good season as being behind Saha is no disgrace considering the teams the two play in. Euell played as an attacking midfielder last season, scoring 8 goals, so he may offer a bit more than just goals.

Wimbledon to Toon transfers aren't, in the main, that successful... Must say though I always have Euell as my cheap forward in Fantasy Footy and he always gets me loads of points.

Saha wore gloves and a SCARF against Bolton on Sunday.
Just thought I'd mention it - pass my hat & coat please, nurse!

And he looked a right proper nonce!

Euell's crap. Ask any Wombles fan - they laughed at us when we signed Cort, they'll throw a Street party if we sign his sidekick. Is this how far we've sunk? trying to snatch the strike-force that ensured Wimbledon's relegation from under the noses of no-one in particular. Depressing isn't the word. If this is true I have serious doubts about YBR's judgement.

Wimbledon have survived on transfer fees derived from NUFC for about 10 years now - Andy Thorn, Dave Beasant, Warren Barton, Carl Cort. I'm sure I've forgotten one? We've managed only one retaliatory strike with Paul Robinson.
They must be getting a bit short of readies, enter Jason Euell, stage left.

Wouldn't it just be easier to buy Wimbledon Football Club?

We might have a better chance of winning in London if we did, although they have no ground they can call 'Home'!

Amost as good an idea as buying a bankrupt Club in Oz!

Forget Euell, you're right the wombles think we a re stupid for buying their shite.

I've heard that Fulham want Goma and he wants to go there, but Newcastle aren't interested in money but are interested in Clarky and Saha.

I can't see Fulham getting rid of Saha, at least not for Goma.

A swap with Clarky may be the more viable option but do we need another central midfielder, yes if Fulham want Gary Speed still!!!!

Charlton looking to sign Euell now?

Dons boss Burton has been forced to sell as his board has ordered him to try and reduce the club's crippling wage bill and he could decide to offload big earner Euell.

Charlton boss Alan Curbishley is a big fan of 18 goal top scorer Euell and he is poised to test Wimbledon's resolve to hold onto him with a £4.5 million bid.

Curbishley is believed to have had the player watched on numerous occasions this season and he would like to sign him before this months transfer deadline.

He may face competition for his signature with Premiership rivals Arsenal and Newcastle United believed to be keen on Euell.

Arsenal, Newcastle....and Charlton. This wouldnt' be a case of someone planting stories to try to get a better price for the player, would it? naaaaaah.
