Canning yogurt?

I know you can keep milk in jars, but what about making up some yogurt and canning it. Any one done this?

I have kept yogurt over a year and a half in the bottom part of the refrigerature and it's still good, why can it? Would kill the beneficial acidophilous bacteria and taste awful, like canned milk, yuck!!!

Most of milk stuff, like sour cream or cottage cheese (probably yogurt too) stores better upside down! I've kept cottage cheese good for MONTHS longer than suggested! You could drain the yogurt into "cheese" and store it too.

My guess is that the temperature needed to can it would kill the culture that makes it yogurt!
