I'm not happy with the fixture list. I'm going to the EU to see if I can get it changed.

Ignore Rik. Looks good to me.

That's more like it! The double U's living up...err, down?...to the name. As a reward for all their hard work in Bigg Market last night, the squad has been rewarded with another few days off training. We might even do a weekend trip to Peru to take in a World Cup qualifier.

Another sterling performance by my Crazy Canuck, only a 6-2 defeat at home. the whole bliddy team are now on the transfer list. I have sacked myself, then i re hired myself at a grossly inflated salary. And I purchased a big stick, with spikes and everything. training tomorrow will be gruelling, for me. what to do, what to do. Oh well, well done Gallowgate. Yes, poor ref, bad field, windy conditions, useless players, not enough added on time, and you still beat us handily;-)))

If the Monuments hold on to 5th do they get to play in Europe next? We could do with the extra cash - new training facilites are needed.

Mind you, it might have something to do with the new improved Corinthian League Ball. Apparently it has a built in electronic homing device to find the back of the net more often. Average over eight and a half goals a game on todays results. Boy if the real game was like that it would take off great in the Excited States and Canada. And the kids would still get free hats and hot dogs.

Ooo I've gone all dizzy 4 th in the table with a positive goal difference now that's a first!

-- Anonymous, March 07, 2001

Storming up the table to 8th. Who said managing a team was hard. After a great away win it's time for a few days off before thrashing the Daily Toon. Hopefully they don't know our weakness against teams without a keeper!

Softie - still having excel nightmares?

So far I've had a win, lose and a draw, yet I've got six points. How did this happen?

-- Anonymous, March 08, 2001

Oh shite. The formula to set up the league table allocates points on a basis of which side scored more goals. Since it is too bloody clever by half it is noticing fractions of goals and has thus recorded your draw as a win. This is fixable in that I can overtype the results columns to replace the formulas with the goals as text. Will stop all the problems but take a bit more time.

Now then, if anyone knows how to tell a spreadsheet to round numbers off and then forget that they were rounded in the first place, I would be very interested to hear from you :-)

I was sent home with a letter from my maths teacher to say that I was a disruptive influence on the class and ought to do better...

format, cells, number?

-- Anonymous, March 10, 2001

Yes Gibbo, format cells number no decimal places, but it knows that although .75 and .6 both round up to 1, .75 is actually larger than .6, even though they are both reported as 1. Really not very simple at all.

Ooh - I've always wanted to "nest my if argument" more times. I may well have to use that to counter Clarky's incomming salvo on the "Stand up if you hate OT" thread. Seven times - can't it be increased???

-- Anonymous, March 11, 2001

I thought nesting your if arguments made you blind?

-- Anonymous, March 11, 2001

I see my hands off management style is proving fruitfull.....just watch my knackers plummet now that I'm back in control (behind the stick so to speak)....
