Well it was a fast and furious 4 days in Reno. Home base was the Peppermill for 3 night comp in a corner jacuzzi suite over looking the pool area. Pool is heated even in winter! This comp was based on 4 hours blackjack play on the last trip there in May. I was unable to get them to kick in on any room charges as they said my play only covered the room. Oh well...I didn't really give them that much blackjack play as I tried to keep my sessions short and sweet there. I also never lost there which probably didn't help. However, I did give them some substantial play on 9/6 JOB .25 and .50, probably a combined total of 12 hours. I play at a average of 800 hands per hour. I would have thought this would have garnered some additional comps. No royal again this trip! Still a virgin in the "real royal" department!
I played mainly very early morning sessions and very late evening sessions at the Peppermill. No detected heat.
Checked out the Atlantis just because I needed to see if you can go back after being asked not to play. Forgot about the new rule of burning 1/3 deck immediately after shuffle. Thought I lost my mind when I look at the discards the first time. What a joke! Left immediately, single deck was to crowded for play. Also I was nervous and kept waiting to get tugged out by the scruff of the neck! In retrospect I suppose I was pretty pompous for thinking that my big win of $400 from last May had left them shaking in their boots!
Silver Legacy was great as always. Boomtown was great also, played for about 1-1/2 hours and asked for a comp, was given a $28 ticket for the coffee shop. Good food! They had remodeled since I was there last time. JA's Nugget out in Sparks was a joke. The "fun pit" was clogged with old timers and if you did score a heads up you were immediately attacked. Worthless trip in my opinion, but it was mid-afternoon so what did I expect? Played some 9/6 JOB till I got enough points for coffee shop and to keep card active.
Take care, Playerette
