I was wondering if fresh oak sawdust could be used as bedding for worms.I know that pine contains a high acid content;but was wondering if oak sawdust contains a high acid for worm to be bedded in.

There are compounds that leach out of oak. Thats why they use it to age whiskey in. Never used it as a sole bedding, have mixed it with paper and leaf mold though. My concern was the compaction potential and insufficient aeration of the medium. Give it a try and monitor the bin.
