Verizon e-mail still down

greenspun.com : LUSENET : Grassroots Information Coordination Center (GICC) : One Thread

Verizon has taken their message about problems with e-mail off their internet issues list. I called to tell them I still have problems. Their " . . e-mail server is on-line sporatically." (Read not on line much). "You may or may not be able to send or receive e-mail. The engineers are working on the problem."

Why did they take down the message about the problem? Could it be because it would now be nearly 24 hours old?

I'm about ready to cancel my account. This is the second time for e-mail problems in less than two weeks.

Why hasn't any news organization picked up on this? They used to report ISP problems almost within hours of problems.

I never had a problem with GTE before the merger with Bell-Atlantic.

Interesting, they issued the following status report issue on their website this morning. Makes it appear it is a new problem and not over 24 hours old already::

"Mail

Status: Open

As of 10:00 A.M. CST, network issues are causing intermittent problems for customers send and/or accessing their mailboxes. Engineers are currently working on the issue."
