Blue Strategy (basic stack)

greenspun.com : LUSENET : The Defenders : One Thread

About four years ago, I started playing Archmage on Ager 2 as a blue mage. When, I started, I SUCKED. But after I got a hang on blue stacking and its versatility, I started growing in ranks. In an effort to help others, I have written down the stackings I used against every color. Below, is the general stacking I used which can easily be manipulated to attack other colors.

Basic Stack

UNIT - # - STACK POWER Archangel - 800 - 1350000 Lich - 600 - 1216200 Water Elemental - 50 - 1090000 Unicorn - 1600 - 900000 Zombie - 32000 - 720000 Mind Ripper - 600 - 692400 Skeleton - 35000 - 525000 Salamander - 1800 - 507600 Nymph - 7000 - 434000 Dryad - 15000 - 345000

It is also possible if you push Unicorns up to 2nd stack...

I like'd to keep the Unicrons behind the heavy resistances of the Water Elementals, due to the Unicorns lack of resistances.

Is this a good stack? All suggestions greatly appreciated

As a newbie I looked at how other people made their stacks for Blues... I am now in my 3rd reset playing blue and have learned from reading other people's stackings and my own experience what is most effective... but I have to say... it all depends on your power level to those who attack you and how many times. I had a great stack, and stopped the attacker cold, but then they attacked me again, threw my stack off, they took land, they attacked again, but now my stack was back to the right order and I stopped them again. So, my question is... is there a way to make a stack effective to more than one attack without you being there to always adjust it? Casting for archangels is a pain! :)

Yes, summoning AAs might be a pain. However, AAs is the best damage absorber. Up top, with unis 2nd, it ensures that your stacks won't change much cos of the amount of damage it can absorb. At most, you might see lich go up 2nd, MRs 3rd and unis dropping to 3rd or 4th. The rest should remain constant.

I agree... that's how I like to stack. But, it still doesn't account for those players who are at a much greater rank and then attack. AA's can aborb damage but not when they are being hit by a much more powerful stack multiple times. I like using Gate to get my AA's but it's not reliable compared to Summon AA. So, I can waste turns and mana just to build those stacks back up. I guess that's the price you pay to be a blue!?! hehe

Dun use archangel spell...totalli worthless..gate is a better option.. as for blocking multiple attacks, make the stack power difference greater so it can maintain the same stack n by the time ur stacks get mess up, u r in protection :P

Heh, I never use Summon AA.. I use Gate.

Cast them in multiples of 2.....
