THERE IS A CABIN THAT WAS STARTED, WHICH IS ROUGHLY 16 BY 12 FEET, (UNFINISHED). THE OLD GUY THAT WAS BUILDING IT DIED AND IT IS TO BE SOLD BY THE ESTATE. IT ONLY HAS THE WALLS UP, AND IT IS NOT A LOG CABIN. IT IS MLS#10232 AND IS PRICED AT $60,000. THE PHONE NUMBER IS 406-439- 6645, BRUCE SWINNEY AND ASSOCIATES.

There are a number of cabins for sale here in Alaska. While regular houses can be a bit pricey, there are lots of cabins. People come up here, build them, want to leave, and can't sell them. There are some here in the town I live in (Delta Junction) priced about $25K on 5 acres. Some have electricity and phone, some don't. These are basically one-room shelters with a wood stove for the most part. These will not be listed on the real estate MLS either as they are either FSBO or handled by agents who don't participate in the MLS.

Hope this helps.

KELLY,

Countryside Magazine has plans for an excellent cabin in the Jan/Feb 2000 issue. There are six pages of instructions and pictures. The article is on page 32 and titled "Build this cabin in 3 weeks for under $2000". The dimensions are 10 x 14 ft.

Hi Kelly, go to www.swisslands.com , they have lots of log cabins for sale on some acreage, and they tell all about the area here.

Kelly, A house up the road from us just went up for sale. It's a small country house, not a cabin. It has wood heat, and a few acres. Went for 39,000 two years ago. In central NC. Been trying to find out the asking price and acreage, but don't know yet. Let me know if you're interested. Laurie

there is a cabin near me that does have electric and propane for cooking. Don't know how they heat. I believe the aceage is 16 acres ??? Let me know and I will drive by it and get the phone number. Looks like the owners are selling it themselves. It is on a hardtop road within driving distance of small towns. It sits alone but not remote. Been kept in nice shape, not a big cabin by the looks of it from the outside. Let me know if you are interested ?? Good Luck !!
