film rewind button

Just finished removing roll of film from Autoreflex T and the film rewind button is in the pressed in mode and won't come back out. It used to pop back out when the film transport lever was activated but this could be the problem---- I cannot move the film transport lever after the camera back is closed. No film in camera by the way. Also the timer lever is activated and how that happened I am not sure. Grandchildren have been here but I don't believe they got to my camera. Any help would be appreciated. Bob C.

Rewind button

Dragging my memory back a long time, I think when my T did that I could fix it by opening the back and carefully rotating the film sprockets until they locked. Possibly when winding on after the last frame, esp. if (like me) you shot more than 36, the film can't pull far enough out of the cassette to let the mechanism go full travel.
