Great fun watching icNewcastle trying to update their NUFC page today. Besides photos moving all over the place, and all of them being linked to the Shearer story, the latest headline says, "Shearer Makes Secret Specialist"

As ciara says, the Ronnie carries a report about AS's trip to Colorado to consult with Dr. Richard Steadman about his knee problem. Steadman is apparently regarded as the top knee specialist in the world.

The report includes the by now standard b/s - "....but such is the character and determination of Shearer United have not ruled him out of their next match against Bradford City at Valley Parade in nine days time!" Frankly, we could do without this cr@p at this point.

They also report - "Shearer has been in good company in going to Colorado to see Dr Steadman. The American specialist has been working on Liverpool pair Jamie Redknapp, and Patrick Berger and Brazilian superstar Ronaldo".

Clearly, Liverpool and Inter Milan believe their players should consult only the very best specialists for treatment from the beginning. We first send out prize assets to Dr. Crippen in Bradford to practice on.

I hope that's just paper talk. We can do without him. Cort, Ameobi, Lua Lua, Cordone, Gallagher. We shold be OK in that department. Would our club risk Shearer's health for one match? .... err well yes they would :-(((

Actually he could have a nice rest at Bradford wandering gently around waiting for someone in midfield to pass a decent ball to him..... shouldn't be too strenuous!

I hope his knee surgery is better than the dodgy plastic surgery he's had done to himself....not much cop if Big Al's knee reverts to the area tissue was moved from. Arses, elbows and growing a beard from his ankle spring to mind.
