Does anyone have any good juicing recipes....or input on juicing?

I've got a Champion juicer and we love it. I just use the recipes that came with it and from "The Complete Book of Juicing" by Michael T. Murray, N.D. The only advise I have is leave it out on the counter where it is in plain sight all the time (out of sight, out of mind)and always rinse the parts immediately after use. We find that most juices are very tasty, but start to oxidize quickly, so don't try to juice up a large batch and save it. My favorite juice is a mixture of apple, orange and a couple of carrots.

Half Golden Delicious apple and half carrot, and then throw in a piece of ginger root too. That ginger makes it really good!

beets carrot and celery is a good combo.Use organic if possible.Ammonium nitrate leaves a nasty after taste. It also burns the stomach lining.

Check the archives for a thread on juice recipes. Organic carrot juice is my favorite. If you make something and just can't stand it add pineapple juice, helps a lot.

Ohmygod... Barkeep, order me up a carrot-apple-beet, please! Make it a double and my liver will love you for it. dh in nm

I don't have a particular recipe to recommend except pineapple and orange but I just wanted to suggest that you juice each fruit separately and store it in its own container and mix the fruits when you are ready to drink them. They keep better that way. We found that if we mixed them together that by the next day some of them didn't taste as good anymore. This is particularly true of bananas and anything. Also, by separating them that way, you can try all different mixes in a shot glass to figure out which ones you like the best. If you mix them together as you juice them then if you don't like that particular mix you have wasted the whole fruit of each one you used in that particular mix.

Peel some bananas and put them in the freezer. After they are frozen solid, run them through the juicer. It comes out just like ice cream but is much healthier. You can always put some strawberries, blueberries or whatever with it to give it a different taste. We've had a Champion for years and like you, love it. Hope this helps. Also agree that carrot juice is great. Eagle
