Liverpool are ready to put in a bid of £10 million for Ranger's Barry Ferguson. Sell Speed for £3mill, use the remaining £2mill from Goma sale add £5mill and hey presto.

I'd like to see himn at St James'. He will only improve with age.

Fantastic player. Soon to be Scotland's first world class player since TSM. We'll never get him. Selling Speed sounds like a cracking idea, though. Shame TSM is no longer running a club into the ground to take him off our hands.

"Now then Barry we've had a couple of offers for you services. Newcastle United and Liverpool. We're happy to take money off either of them so it's your choice."

Barry: "Well I suppose I've never done that well in European competitions and all those extra Champions League games that Liverpool will be involved in could be tiring. I'll go to Newcastle."

".....it would be like us letting Gazza go."

You know Macbeth, I could have sworn that's exactly what we did? Kidding apart, I understand what you're saying.
Unfortunately, the conversation Geordie has apparently overheard is precisely the conversation that will be played out every time we go for a top-class player - potentially, all for the sake of some vision a few months ago, and for someone to have realised at that point, rather than after visiting the Bank Manager last week, that instead of being bankrupt we actually have £100 million to spend!

Oh brother, what would we give for Barry Ferguson, Michael Carrick, and say another 3 or 4 like them.

Teamtalk have Leeds, Arsenal and Chelsea after Ferguson, in addition to Liverpool.
Should be a breeze for us!

Advocaat will go before Ferguson, and a new manager would build his side around him. He has all the snarling hatred expect of a young Hun and backing that up with some excellent skills and leadership makes him priceless.
