Freud's Psychosexual Stages and Development Processes

Hello, I want to know where can I find recent articles written about the Phallic stage in particular. Also I was wondering are there any articles that dispute Freud's Psychosexual Stages?

Try looking in psychoanalytic journals. There are several listed on the website of Division 39 (Psychoanalysis) of the APA:

As for disputing the psychosexual stages, I think you'd be hard pressed to find many psychologists who accept them. Even most psychoanalysts, I believe, no longer hold to the traditional Freudian position. More important, however, I think you'll find the the criticism of Freudian theory from outside of the psychoanalytic community generally runs much deeper than quibbling about the details of the stages. The character of the debate is more typically pitched at the level of whether Freud's theory is to be regarded as being "scientific" at all, and if so, what sort of credible evidence there exists for it. The philosopher Adolf Grunbaum wrote a well-known critique of Freudian theory: _The Foundations of Psychoanalysis_ (1984). You might start there.

Hi Jimmy, you might find a contrasting analysis to Freud's stages in Erick Erikson's work. An interesting film is "Everyone Rides the Carousel." If your local library has a good film library. Best, David

You might try looking at Calvin Hall's _Primer in Freudian Psychology_ -- a very nice little summary.
