Additional LENS PERFORMANCE TESTS now availablegreenspun.com : LUSENET : Konica 35mm SLRs : One Thread |
being inspired by Mike's lens test data, and in an effort to help mike out, i have put up the lens performance tests for a number of hexanon lenses: 28/1.8, 35/2, 40/1.8, 85/1.8, and 100/1.8. If anyone has any additional performance tests, i'd be happy to do the same. these are from popular photography: 8/78 and 9/83.paul trunfio

Hi Paul, Hey, nice tests! I was just looking at those old magazines and was going to put them up too! haha. You beat me to it. They look great though!I saw the 35mm f2.0 test and went WOW, look at the contrast on that puppy in the center, then I saw the edge and said "ouch! That is horrible!" I was a little surprised about the 85mm f1.8 at f1.8, but at f5.6 - f8 it is reall nice.
Have to study the rest and look over them. Hey, thanks for the link (I'll put a link to your page up at the Blue Book) and for the inspiring comment too. :)
Great work!!! Keep it up!
Mike.

At f2.0 this lens just barely makes 20% contrast, and even at f5.6, a lowly 40% contrast. So can one assume that this lens has a real hard time differenciating between shades of gray or other colours (eg, red spectrum of light)? This lens really repersents an awesome and a dirt poor lens at the same time and just fustrates the heck outta me.. haha.

Paul.....Thanks for posting these tests, but I can't read 'em. What's the secret? I can see them but can't get any detail. Sort of like a bad lens, if you know what I mean. Maybe somebody can help me out? blurrily...jim
