Howay 5-0!

greenspun.com : LUSENET : Unofficial Newcastle United Football Club BBS : One Thread

Swayed my way home last night after a hearty session in Town with the lads, pie and chips in hand, too late to worry about getting up for work after drinking on 'a school night'.

All the way home there was a certain glint in my eye in eager anticipation of the entertainment that lied ahead of me.

Last night on Sky Sports 3 at 10pm: Football Gold, another chance to see the famed thrashing of Manchester United 5-0 by Keegan's Newcastle United. My girlfriend had thankfully remembered to tape this for me and that tape will now be moved to avoid recording over.

Pleasant viewing would be a gross understatement!!

Aahhh bollox! I missed it. Today is getting worse and worse. At least I've got free food and drink at lunchtime to look forward to :-)

Sounds like your lass is a top bird, lets you out on the lash, stays at home to clean & tape the match. I hope you apreciate her.

Only free drink for me this lunchtime.

The only downside about the whole night was the reflective moment when I realised that the current crop of Newcastle players could never get close to providing so much entertainment.

DlF, How did you know she was cleaning the house last night? Mmmmmmm!

Can you imagine that team playing our present team.

Sorry folks for planting that thought in your heads.

I shudder to imagine the outcome of that one.

What struck me was the level of determination as well as the amaxing passing game. The gulf between the two sides is astounding and maybe the current lot should be made to view it as an example of what people pay hard earned money to watch.

Amaxing? You'll have to excuse me I haven't seen this match for ages, needless to say I shall probably watch it again tonight.

I can't get me work done for thinking aboot Marcelino against Al & Les

And Darren Peacock would probably have Sheaer inhis pocket all game. Leaving Albert to foray forward and score more goals.

Come back Phillip we need you!

Imagine Robert Lee 1996 v Robert Lee 2001, scary thought.

How would Batty have coped with the dynamism of Solano, Bassedas, Speed and Acuna skipping past? Still, at least Given would have had no problem with Sir Les...

Memeories, and a very warm glow at the very thought of the Princes goal. Makes me smile every time I think about it.
