Hello everyone--

I am new to the list and to StL WebDev. I've enjoyed your discussions immensely and have learned quite a bit from you. I look forward to actually having the time to attend a meeting someday!

I have a question that may have been asked before--and in light of the recent NorthPoint discussion I'm especially looking forward to seeing what you have to say.

I work for an organization headquartered in StL who is interested obtaining web hosting from a local company. Currently, the site is hosted by Interland. We've looked at Primary, but frankly, the individual researching the solution has not come up with many choices for us.

My question--

What do you think of Primary as a company, specifically their service, tech support and overall hosting solutions? What other web hosting companies can you reccommend (that aren't about to tank and have a great reputation!)? %th="A Thanks! Shawna

---------------------------------------------------------------------- ---------- We do hosting, if you are interested in a provider that does

1. SQL 2. ASP 3. Cold Fusion 4. Secure Server

We've been in business for nearly 5 years, and can supply support for any of the above. Since we are primarily developers and graphic designers, we use the above tools every day. We can also provide support if you are either a graphic designer or a developer that requires complementary skills.

Another alternative is St. Louis Internet, We share bandwidth with him, they give a high level of support.

Hello Shawna,

I'd highly recommend Ashcom Inc., located right there in St. Louis. As far as I am concerned, their technical expertise is second to none. You can reach them at (314)504-4300.

Shawna,

Before you do anything, .. first realize that there IS no Primary Network! They sold out last year to mPower [Business] & EarthLink [Residential].

If you are looking for your own server, with all of the AT&T/NP snafu we signed an agreement with a local, multi-homed, multi-T3 ISP for rack space. $175/month per machine (or if you have more, we can quote half-rack and full-rack), 50Gb traffic.
