Hi everybody!! Thanks, Jim - for inviting me. Hope to see more folks soon.

What a wonderfully refreshing idea Jim! Vicki

Just checking in. Really appreciate being included!! I plan on stopping in quite often..Thanks.

Glad to see you all.

I just wanted to say that everyone here should feel free to post whatever they'd like to talk about. This forum will be slightly different than the Countryside forum in that people are encouraged here to post and talk about anything - not just subjects related to homesteading.

So post away, I look forward to hearing what you all have to say. (grin)

Hi ~ I'm peeking in the door . . . . I don't know how much I'll be around, as I've got a lot going on right now on the home front, but I'll try to join in.

Thanks for the invite, Jim!

Thanks, Jim! I have a feeling I'll be here more than Countryside or BWH. The fundies are getting a little strident over there too. Have you invited anyone from BWH?

-- Anonymous, April 03, 2001

Welcome to the forum Jorja,

No, I haven't invited anyone from BWH but I would be more than happy to do so. I don't get over there very often so don't really know anyone there. I got your name and email address from an old post on the Countryside forum that was asking if any pagans were on the forum.

If you'd like, you can send me the names and email addresses of the people you think might be interested in coming over here.

My email address is: prism@bevcomm.net

After receiving your list I'll then send each of them a formal invitation to come here.

How does that sound to you?

Hello everybody, yah I have just about stopped going to the country side forum, I think that this new site that you have invented might be refreshing, thanks for letting me in on it Jim. Spring is sure coming slow, my golly but it's coming! Have a good day! Tren

Thanks for the invite Jim, I'll check back regularly. I use to be a regular on BWH, but it got so bad that I hardly even read it any more much less participate. As for CS, I only look at certain topics and rarely post. I'll try to do better here.

Blessings, Judy

Hi, I'm here too. Thanks for the invitation. Hopefully this forum won't raise my blood pressure as much as CS does. :-)

Hi group. Kinda feels like the cyber-diaspora but it'll be nice to not have to be dealing with the fundies all the time.

Good job Jim and thanks!

Jim, Thanks for the invitation. It will be fun to talk to people about all sorts of topics. I love Countryside but.... Hope we can get into some interesting conversations. Have a great day. karen

Hi All. And thanks for inviting me, Jim. I avoid the threads that are obviously cantankerous at CS, but holier-than-thou ranting shows up even on seemingly noncontroversial topics. I will still go there, though - it is still (IMO) the best homesteading forum. And I also feel some sense of loyalty and respect to the magazine and the Belangers. The BHM format is very time consuming and convoluted, so I visit only occasionally. Sandy

Thanks for including me, too! Glad to see lots of my favorite post-ers have been invited also. I look forward to watching this new forum blossom!

Thanks for inviting me, Jim. I'll try to behave myself :) The growing season is always busy for me, but I'll try to check in often and see how this develops. Actually, I'm still waiting on the growing season. Yesterday I woke up to a fresh blanket of snow. . . .

Thanks for the invite. While we aren't giving up on the CS forum it sure will be nice to have a friendlier place to visit. I had always thought that there would be more aging hippies in the homestead crowd and was a bit shocked by the conservative christian slant.

Thanks so much for thinking of me, Jim; its a great idea. I have been having to meditate a lot longer after visiting the forum lately!

-- Anonymous, April 03, 2001

Yes... I went and post already... but I am here and yes, thank you Jim for inviting me...

-- Anonymous, April 04, 2001

Glad for the invitation, glad to see some nice folks here, and hope you all find me nice, friendly, and unannoying as well. LOL.

Happy posting!

Just checking in. Glad to be a part of this new forum. Hopefully it will have all of the positives of the CS forum without the negatives. I'll continue to go to both as I have a high tolerance for most things and let it all roll off my back but it will be pleasant not to have to be told how to live my life every other posting.

Thanks for inviting me. It's an idea that occurred to me once before, and the best forums I participate in are moderated or semi-moderated. Lately I feel that the vitriol is a little too intense over at the regular forum, although I do hope that those people calm down a bit.

-- Anonymous, April 04, 2001

Thanks Jim for inviting me. I hope to enjoy discussions on environmental topics without being clobbered by the uninformed.

-- Anonymous, April 04, 2001

Yup, I went and posted before I got to this thread. That's what I get for starting at the top! :-) Thanks again for inviting me, Jim, and Gee, it really feels good here!

Hello all. I finally wandered over here and I am very glad to see you all. This is a wonderful idea, as I see many names who I have respected for their opinions and ideas in the past, even if they weren't hand-in-glove with my own. I look forward to some truly meaningful dialogues here in the future.

Thanks for creating this space!!
