CS friends Chat

Anyone here go to the online chat at the CS Friends' site? I thought about visiting there but I am dangerous in chat rooms. I type faster than I reason....

Just curious, as I wondered what all the hubbub was about vis-a-vis the CS posting from Doreen (China and the downed military jet?)

I'm curious too, but don't have access to the site. I applied. . . maybe I'll get in.

I applied for membership a couple days ago so I could see the photos of Jim's raised beds, but I haven't heard anything back yet.

I know of a couple of sites where I can set up a chat room in a few minutes, if we should want to create our own. Any interest in that?

I don't know what Doreen did. If all her posts are still on that thread, I don't think it's any big deal. But I got the impression that something had been deleted. [shrug]

Funny ya'll should mention that. I was just there and registered for a passport for the same reason.

Cindy, I set up a chat room at TalkCity back when there was discussion of a chat room from CS. Nobody seemed interested, but it still exists. It's named Homestead (how original, eh?)

Some people have had trouble getting into TalkCity. I'm already registered there, so I can't take any one step by step through it, but basically, go to: TalkCity

Then click on CHAT and follow their instructions. When you get to the point where they ask if you already know where you want to go, that is when you enter Homestead

I signed on to the chat but I had to e-mail Patty direct for me to get registered. I went on a couple of times but was the only one there. Guess I kept missing the time. Sorry not much help.

I don't remember how to "do" chat rooms very well. Seems to me that most folks publish a time to meet and then show up? Like 8 p.m. EDT or something.

A few times I have shown up in chat rooms and it was just me, too.

On a different, unrelated to CS, board, we have two chat nights a week, with a set time to start. Most people drag themselves in at least a half hour or hour late, but it can go on past midnight for some. Not a very punctual bunch. Some show up, and if no one is there, surf around and check back to see if anyone else has signed in.

You also have to make sure that people know what the start time is in THEIR time zone.

It's almost 8 pm PDT here and I just got home and got the animals fed. It's what, 11 pm EDT? Guess I'm a little late! Glad I don't live in Hawaii (except for when I would love the sunshine and the smell of flowers all the time!!!!)
