Have you a blessing today?

Today sure is turning out better than expected and it's still morning. I've been mourning the CS forum (yes, mourning) and was down about a couple other things, and feeling pressured over a couple other ones, but I got the phone call I wanted, and violets are ready. Finding them was a blessing in itself. God led me to walk the dog instead of doing my usual workout, I cut my foot yesterday and aerobics was a little painful so..I found the violets on the walk.

Those beautiful little flowers make the prettiest jelly. My grandson helped me pick bunches of the violets, it was such a blessing, A beautiful breeze, the sun was shining, the purples and blues looks so pretty against the green grass dotten with dandy lions.

So tomorrow we'll make the jell(takes 24 hours) and dandylion jelly and maybe sassafrass jelly also.

We're hoping the cat has her kittens while Marcus is here. The peas are up. We need rain really badly and some is predicted.

God Bless, Cindy

Hi Cindy! How cool. I didn't know that violets made jelly. Can you possibly post the instructions? That sounds great!

My new kittens are opening their eyes and I think I have homes for two of the six without even trying. And biggest blessing of all...just for right now, is to come here and see that folks are visiting! Praise God!!

I never thought of making violet jelly either. Have seen wild rose petal jam though. Have you ever had violettos candy? I had some when I was a child and have thought about trying to make it.

I can relate to mourning for the Countryside forum. Nobody's stopping me from going there, but I just don't have the heart to post when it might be censored and deleted.

We had a lot of blessings today. Blue skies with plenty of sunshine, then a gentle rainshower while the sum still shone. After milking I sat down in the goat yard and let the young kids come up to me (they are dam raised and I have to earn their trust). One of them, Wildflower, is very bold and friendly, but such a stinker! she comes up behind me and jumps on my back, paws at me, climbs into my lap, tries to chew my hair, you get the picture! I call her Naughtyflower! While we were sitting there playing with all the goat kids, we looked up and saw an osprey circling above. Then I worked in the garden, where kale, collard, and sorrel seedlings have all been self seeded and just need a little weeding and thinning. When I came inside my dh was cleaning the house; that's a blessing too!

Hi All, I have a blessing to share. I am so grateful to be an alcoholic in recovery. I have not had a drink in almost 14 years, and as a result of things I learned in AA, I'm able to take responsibility for my life. I am surrounded by people who blame all their problems on everyone else, as if the choices they make have nothing to do with it. I feel very blessed today. Thanks for letting me share!

Could you send some recipes for that jelly??? Actually, for the dandelion too? I've made rose jelly before, but have always just sugared violets. I think it would be really interesting to try!!

I can't send you any rain, sorry.... We got snow up here. Glad to hear that somebody has sprouts in the gardens!!!!
