Open Pollinated seed- Very, very, Cheap : LUSENET : Freedom! self reliance : One Thread

I saw this ad and thought some you might be interested in it. I'm going to call later this morning! Seems a company called "Y2K Seed" is selling off their over stock of 18 pounds per order, 60 varieties of 34 vegetables in six #10 cans for $30 each. The stuff was germination tested in Dec 2000 and it's to last 50 years at 32 below or less...That's the only thing that makes me scratch the head a tic. I thought there were a number of seeds that shouldn't be frozen, but maybe I am wrong. They want $30 for each order because they can't afford to keep it cold all summer and are just selling it off.

Here's the contact info:

Is there a site for the mag you saw the ad in??? I would be very interested in finding out more. 18 POUNDS????? Is it also untreated? (Other than with freezing, I mean) that would be a real boon! Too bad I already have my seed. Maybe when I get some extra cash I'll see if they have any left.

doreen is that six number ten cans at thirty dollars each or is it thirty dollars for the whole order which will contain eighteen pounds of seeds? One way is very cheap the other is the same price that was charged during the Y2K build up.I bought some of the seeds from Ready Made Resources and the selection and quantity was nothing to get excited about.I'm not familier with what Y2K seeds is putting out.It wouldn't hurt to have more seeds...........

Well I called them and answered my own question. It is 18 pounds for $30.00 .It is free seed for the cost of the shipping. They have very little left so jump on it soon. Also toss a couple of extra bucks into the order if you can afford to as these folks are selling at a loss. They prefer to sell out at give away prices to people that actually need and will use the seed rather than a bunch of yuppies. The ad was placed in a "freedom" type news letter. If you may be of similer political leanings give them a hand.

This is what they advertised before:

I sure feel dumb.......I read this post, grabbed the phone, and the lady said the seeds have been gone since early June!! Then I come back to tell you all, and see that this isn't really from today! Duh!

Don't feel bad Cathy, I can not tell you how many times I have thought a thread was new and responded as such.
