I have read alot about the stacking methods, i never relised that this was an issue when attacking/defending. I would like to know is there a way of moving you units around to make the correct stack without disbanding/killing them?

The way units are stacked depends on their total power and modifiers.

Either you summon more of the unit you want on top, or you disband those you want below. Sorry, there's no other way.
