Morning everyone, returning to work today after six days off.

During the holiday period I ventured 'home' to see my parents. Spent a day shopping in Newcastle (Into Dixons at every opportunity to see the footie score on Teletext).

Sunday I went to Holy Island and Bamburgh Castle to show my girlfriend what a wonderful place the North East is. Finishing off that selling ploy I took her and my mother to the West Ham game on Monday!

My girlfriend is continually impressed by the genuine friendliness of people in and around Newcastle and would not hesitate to move up there if my job dictates that. (application in today!)

Yeh I'll be there one day Screacher. I looked out for you in the North West Corner but couldn't see that Les Battersby lookalike anywhere.

Mother was well impressed as she hadn't been to a match since a Liverpool cup tie a couple of years back. Me and the girlfriend were slightly disappointed with the atmosphere but taking into account the form and the stage of the season I suupose we shouldn't expect too much. The last game I saw was Leeds on Boxing Day when the circumstances were very different. View from the North West Corner was great though.
