Burying a poly tank

greenspun.com : LUSENET : Freedom! self reliance : One Thread

I have a five hundred gallon poly tank that I want to bury to minimize algae growth. Is there anything special that I should do other than dig a hole and stick it in? I have a slight grade and was thinking of putting it in the dam area of a small pond that I have...that needs some work, too. But I just didn't know if I need to line the hole or anything. Thanks!

If it is not a special ground tank it will colapse when you bury it. there are special black uv protected tank, or you can paint the tank black to prevent light from feeding alge
