With Rock Falls, I understand that a Rock Fall is large rock blocks that fall to earth from a cliff. But what is considered to be a rock fall. Meaning, does it only take one rock block to fall to be considered a rock fall or is there a certain amount that must be included to be considered a rock fall?

In the book it states that a rock fall is newely detached individual blocks plummet suddenly in free fall from a cliff or steep mountain side, it also says that the evidence for the orgin of rockfall is clear from the blocks in a rocky accumulation at the foot of a steep bedrock cliff.
