inc your income through building more towns, raising town:farm ratio. disband money-upkeep units raising population

You may counter using pillaging. The only other time you can use it is on a mage on the hit list.

the best pillageing unit I found a green was dryads... got a character two resets back that got enough $$ to buy a hero without researching any spells... just by pillaging in under a week of play (infact I think I bought two heros in the first week....

NOOOOOO always use Phoniex in Pilliaging becuase the weakest unit will usually discover pilliages and it is best if they Cannot hit they pilliaging creature. Plus only a few will burn the full 100 lands allowed in a pilliage...... Biggy
