2 cups sugar 1/3 cup Peanut butter

1/4 cup cocoa or carob powder 3 cups oats

1/2 cup butter 1 tsp.vanilla

1/2 cup milk

Put sugar,milk, cocoa & butter in sauce pan and bring to a rolling boil. Boil 3 minutes.Remove from heat. Add peanut butter and vanilla, then oats.Drop by TBLS. onto wax paper. Done.

If you use carob,cut down on sugar.I have used honey,but do not remember the adjustments any more. Experiment.

Isn't there another version of this recipe that uses peanut butter instead of chocolate? I remember one Easter weekend when I was a kid, I ate myself sick on them while watching Charleton Heston in "The Ten Commandments". By the time the Israelites were worshiping the golden calf, I was in the bathroom worshiping the porcelan god!
