hey kids,

Good luck finding anything halfway descent in Charlotte. An anti- rave law was just passed in Charlotte which states that no night club can operate past 2:00AM. Some places have tried to throw after hours parties that completly suck ass. If a good time is going to a shit- hole of a venue with crappy sound systems, DJ's who don't know the difference between a turntable and their own ass, and trying to dance on a dance floor covered with screwed up little shitheads lying on the floor, than the after parties is for you. But, if you're a serious party-kid, get in touch with the record store Vibe Tribe (aka: Knee-Deep) to gather info on upcoming events in NC, SC, and Atlanta.. I wish you the best of luck in your quest, and please help some of us old-school party-kids by educating the masses on why these parties exist and the true reason for gathering. If you are true to the scene, you already know what to say to them.

P.S...These view points are comnig from someone involved in the scene for the past 8 years and has gone to parties all over the east coast from Philly down to Miami. I'm not some kid who went to 1 party with high hopes and became disapointed.

Yeah, I heard they passed that law just before Flavor 7 last Saturday. I couldn't beleive it! I've been to some kick ass parties in Charloette... isn't there something we can do about it? Do you think a petition would make a difference to this law? There's gotta be something we can do... we can't just let the law keep fucking up our fun! What right do they have to take away our long nights of making new friends and dancing till our legs fall out?

Well as an old-school local to NC, it has gone down hill. I remember the days of a packed house for Simply Jeff at Mythos, or all the locals like Dave Gibson, or Tober throwing down, or even sometimes WizKid. Man i am sure glad i moved to Atlanta.

Yeah they may have passed the law but I went to good ole mythos last weekend and Deep Sky was wild. We stayed at the club til 5am and there was still people dancing. It is not that bad. BUt i know it could always be a little better. kimball collins didnt even show up liek he has done that twice. at flavor 5 baby anne did nt show either i wonder if they use the bigger names to get the people in there and they had not planned on those people anyway. it is wierd every where i have went the head liners have not shown up if it has been in charlotte

I have been on the scene for many years and i wish we could have clubs like area 51 and the baha back in action.Because thats when charlotte's club scene was fuckin tha shit man.And the headlining djs like kimball collins and baby anne always came out to support the charlotte scene. So all you young dumbass ravers that fuck up the scene need to recognize it's not all about the drugs.

There is some allright shit goin down at Mythos in Charlotte on friday nights and for now the club is still bangin' till 4 or 5 in da mornin. The Kingpin series kicks ass with shit like DJ Icey and the like. A word for the wise my peoples: Stay the hell away from club Ibiza in SC. Its about 10 minutes south of Charlotte but it is SWARMING WITH UNDERCOVER COPS. I unfortunetly know this from personel experience so stay safe and roll on.
