can ne one help me with a report i have to write i need to know why edgar allen poe wrote the way he did and why he wrote the masque or red death

Well, in short, Masque of the Red Death refers to the tragic losses of many of those close to him from Tuberculosis, also called Consumption. It is a lung diesease(which was common in his family) that pretty much eats away your lungs and you die coughing up blood, usually drowning in it. He had to watch his mother die from it at the age of 3. his brother also died from it, as did his wife/cousin Virginia, and many others
