Hi, do you know where i can find a picture of an operant chamber with a rat in it used to observe behaviour. The chamber should contain a lever and an adjustable light and a speaker and a hopper where food (condensed milk) can be delivered. Please reply as soon as possible. Thanks. Abel.

There are (somewhat fuzzy) photos at http://www.sigmaxi.org/amsci/captions/captions96-03/blum-2.html and http://www.nwlink.com/~donclark/hrd/history/skinner.htmlThere is an exact schematic diagram at http://www.primenet.com/~dannell/andy/psych/ratsf/ratsmethod.html, a not so exact (but more colorful) schematic at http://www.science.wayne.edu/~wpoff/cor/mem/operschd.html, and a screenshot of an "artist's rendering" at http://www.wadsworth.com/psychology/sniffy/about.htm.

We've just included a Skinner Box in our recent exhibition on the history of British psychology. See http://freespace.virginnet.co.uk/geoff.bunn/index.htm

You might check out the animated rat "Snuffy," developed at the University of Toronto's Erindale College a few years ago as a teaching aid.
