Misaligned Knee Replacement

greenspun.com : LUSENET : About Joints : One Thread

I had Knee Replacement in 2/00 but have been told in recent months that the joint is misaligned by 15 degrees. This value was taken from X-rays.Is there anyway to realign the knee????

It is difficult to determine what is meant by "misaligned by 15°" without examining you and seeing the x-rays. However, 15° malalignment in a total knee replacement would seem to be quite a large malalignment. If this is, in fact, the truth, the only way to achieve proper alignment of the knee replacement would be revision surgery. I think the best course of action in your case is to seek a second opinion.
