ROGO thanks for your reply. have visited your webb site before, a good one. information you you supply as to the history of the Guinea Jersey is only suppostion. Old man Snow is credited with importing these cows from the isle of new guinea. find his decendents who support this theory. his location was dobson n.c. and the two registries for mini jerseys are less than five years old. there is no registry for Guinea Jerseys .........there should be. i've owned this TYPE of cow for the better part of forty years. we have been raising them for 22 years as a breed. any info I have on these animals has come from a lot of foot work. i'm after the truth,not a fairy tale.

ROGO I'm sorry.... a Big mistake on my part. THANKS for the info. just want to get people to ask guestions and not to accept "a used car salesman's sales pitch" cocerning the origin of these little jerseys. JUST think in the last 5 years they have evolved from THE "Guinea" to the "Mini" to the "American Mini" and "Lessor Jersey" whats next? Hey the animals has'nt changed. I guess it boils down to taking a generic brand and making it your brand name. AND, if anyone cares,Guinea is slang term to decribe "small...little... or...drawf. Any one want to discuss the channel island story...
