Great site. His (Michael Phillips) book is our reference too - "The Apple Grower: A guide for the Organic Orchardist". Too expensive at $35, but the best we've found.

Hey Sharon, that looks good. Also check out www.attra.org. I have little green apples on my new trees for the first time this year - exciting! Also lots of peaches. We had a light frost night before last, but I'm hoping serious cold weather is over.

Hey Sam We didn't have the frost, thank goodness.I have lots of tender stuff in now.Looks like clear sailing for us,now. If it would only rain more.

I have a bunch of peaches on,so I'm hoping to get my first real crop, too. Now if we got rid of all the groundhogs,I shouldn't have peaches stolen before they are ripe, like last year.

Some apples set too,and sweet cherries, which we are not supposed to be able to grow here. Between variety and microclimate,I'm hoping to prove the expert wrong!

Nada on the asian pears tho, frost got them.

Hairy beardstongue and smooth phlox(I think that's it) are flowering. Glorious day!

I need to check out that Attra site more thoroughly.Maybe this winter.

Sharon, I couldn't garden without my groundhog dog. As for peaches, I had a couple of trees in the backyard when I lived in Austin, and SQUIRRELS would eat every one before they ripened!
