I am interested in obtaining photos of the construction of the Birmingham Atlantic Railroad before and after 1909. This rail line was later bought out by ACL and this railroad had a monument erected in Highland, Alabama as the highest point of a southern railroad.Can you direct me as to how I might acquire photos of the different locations along this railroad during its construction years? The tracks are now owned and operated by SCX. Any info would be appreciated..........................Thanks

This line was built by the Atlanta, Birmingham & Atlantic RR. In 1927 the AB&A became the Atlanta, Birmingham & Coast; in 1946 the AB&C became the Western Division of the Atlantic Coast Line. The Manchester, Ga.-Birmingham line of the old AB&C is now the Lineville Subdivision of CSX. The marker was erected by ACL in 1950 and notes that Highland was the highest point on the ACL.
