Church Weddings

One of favorite Sacraments to perform is a wedding! I love doing weddings. I was thinking about some of the couples I have married here in Bozeman and the weddings. I think my favorite was done for an interacial couple. She is Apache Indian and he is German. This was an outdoor wedding in the forest by a beautiful creek. (Though I had to wear hiking boots and change shoes when we got there) What have been some of your favorite weddings and don't forget to include your own! I love details. Weddings are so imporant to God, remember Jesus Public ministry began at a wedding.

I thought Marriage was not considered a Sacrament in the AME church. Only Holy Communion and Baptism.

I stand corrected. Since I am coming from another denomination. Someone else pointed this out to me. And I thank everyone for giving me the heads up!:-) But I also hope someone will share a wedding story.

I joke with my wife that I was so petrified at our wedding I have no memory of it. I can not verify whether I even married her. But since she and many witnesses claim I said "I do" I will have to take there word for it. Besides it has been 16 years and we have 2 kiddos.

The highlights of our wedding: I wanted to get it over with. Our preacher said it was the earliest he had ever done. 10 AM. We also used bird seed instead of rice because we were told the birds would eat it and it would not need to be swept up. As we got into my car people were throwing it in after us. We had it in our hair, ears, and inside the vents of my car.

My sisters got married on successive weekends and were each others maid/matron of honor. The one who went first came home from her honeymoon to attend the second. Since the whole church set aside two Saturdays for our family one little old lady asked what my dad had planned for next week.
