"Digg'n in the cold cold ground!" The tool of preference, for me anyhow, is a small women's garden shove with a long rake handle. The blade isn't very big but will move all the dirt I wanna move! The long rake handle makes digg'n a ditch a rite smart easier than those short handled little back breakers. I've dug many a ditch, leveled lots of dirt for Propane tank pads to set level on. Ain't no easy way to do any of't but this way's not as hard as others. Sides all that--after awhile-when ya'll've been doin this type work for over 20 years you tend to get a little lax. As the "Crazy Swiss" would say--"That's just tha way it is" and make sure it was perfect while I wasn't nearly as "exact"! As long as it didn't roll over it was "good nuff fer me".

OH, I have'nt told ya'll about the "Crazy Swiss" before. He's a crazy swiss that married into this crazy Gibson family several years ago. Married my niece, he did- and fit right in! Born and raised in the land of the swiss-he's a good guy. Licensed as an Amature Extra class in Ham radio and very proficient in Morse Code, electronics and is a pilot. He is also a climber!! One year as he was "chosen" to install Christmas lights at moms house--up high--he would yodel. Sounded ok. After all --swiss DO yodel, don't they? Drink hot choc too! Fredi is a LURKER to the countrysidemag forum. C'mon out Fredi and join the rest of us "Crazies"--ya'll'll fit right in with us.

BBQ'd pork steaks along with deep fried taters, whole onions, carrots and cabbage. If ya'll ain't tried it--why wait until ya'll are too old to try it? Mite as well start clogg'n up those arteries while ya'll are young! Gotta top it off with some "sweets" too. What's wrong with Choc cake--from scratch, apple pie-from scratch--and some homemade ice cream? Yeah, us "crazies" out this way, in the hills of S.E. Illinois---we know how to eat, what we do!

Well, this has nothin to do with home made, from scratch, apple pie but---I was lookin around in the deep freezer and found 2 friz pie crusts. Guess what I found in the pantry? A can of apple pie fillin! I don't know what happen'd to my old brane but somehow those items got mix'd up and baked! Lil Dumplin wasn't home so---I et 1/8th the first nite and finished the rest for breakfast! She don't know and I ain't about to tell'r. Found a choc cakemix too! It's hid from Lil Dumplin and she'll be gone about noon tuesday! Don't know but magine that cakemix will end up bein et also!

Van mpg appears to be about 27 mpg right now. Lookin for about 10mpg more.
