Wasn't he moved to be Director of Spending ?

Preston North End's Chairman has said that if Man City want David Moyes then Preston cannot realistically stand in his way if a move to a 'big' club is on the cards.

I'd like to see Moyes take up the vacant Assistant Manager's slot at Newcastle, working with Robson for the next two years. I'm sure he'd take it with the lure of taking control once Robson retires ot Portugal.

I've watched a bit of Preston this year when they've been on Sky and they play good football with plenty of movement. Moyes has done a tremendous job at Preston and we should be looking to snap up this sort of young talent.

In Bobby's role as 'overseeing all things football' at the club on his arrival, surely this issue must have been talked about.

The question is, are they going to groom someone underneath Robson or wait till he goes then look for thebest manager around that they can get?

I discount Shearer in these talks he has other more important things to deal with.

Moyes is just flavour of the month, in much the way John Gregory was once going to be the next England manager

I still chuckle about that every time I watch him ballsing everything up.

You may well discount Shearer DeB, but I'll guarantee you that is the succession plan - whether we like it or not.
