By Alan Oliver, Evening Chronicle Newcastle United have made a hush-hush trip to check on the fitness on Leeds United striker Michael Bridges.

And significantly it was fitness coach Paul Winsper who was despatched to run the rule over Bridges when he made his comeback for Leeds' Reserves after being sidelined for most of the season with a bad ankle injury.

Maybe a bit harsh but is this guy any judge of a player's fitness.

When did Winsper join us and does anyone know anything of his background?

Whinsper is the Fitness Coach, so if he isn't qualified to assess a players fitness then we have another fairly significant personnel issue to address.

Sorry, don't know where he came from or what his qualifications are - Morris Dancer or redundant Black & White Minstrel probably. ;-{)
