I have been trying to find a way to buy an original painting by Bob Ross for a while, and can not find a single one for sale anywhere. You know there has to be hundreds out there, but I guess owners of these pieces just don't want to come off of them. If you have any leads for me please let me know.... Thanks.

I have a original ross painting of the northern lights and cabin in alaska painted on a gold pan.....was wondering if anyone knows how to value such a painting?

-- ross hagberg (r.hagberg@attbi.com), April 06, 2002.

I was contacted by an individual of Mr. Ross' estate and was told that none of Bob's paintings are for sale. Evidently it was Mr. Ross' wishes that none of his paintings were to ever be exchanged through a monetary transaction, but to be donated and/or auctioned off with the proceeds going to a charitable purpose. I suppose that shows the true character of Bob Ross.

I've never seen an original Ross for sale, but I would venture a guess at such a painting's worth to be between $2000-$8000.

I have an incredible Bob Ross painting. It is of a cottage house nestled in the woods next to a stream. He did this on a double canvas; it is the only one like it I have ever seen. It is really quite beautiful but the style does not fit into my home. I would be willing to sell but I do not know how to learn the true value. I will not let it go at a 'bargain' price. But if anyone knows how I can learn a value I would appreciate the information.

-- Jeff (countryboy@chesco.com), December 16, 2002.

be carefull out there that I know of there's plenty of scam artist out there passing of their paintings as bob ross's. I know for a fact that his paintings can easily be reproduced, since he him self shows you his technique and how he signs his pictures.

All i'm saying is be carefull, and dont trust anyone other that your art broker.

those are my two cents...

It's my opinion that if Bob Ross were alive today he would say to all the people looking for prints of his work that YOU CAN DO IT !!! I believe the whole purpose of his show was to encourage anyone and everyone to pick up a brush and paint! I have been painting wet on wet for two years now. After a little practice, I found out that it really is easy to make things happen on canvas. To me, the joy of painting comes when someone asks me how much do you charge for one of your paintings and it really sets in when I give it to them free!!! But if some of you are set on having copy's of his work,I suggest that you buy one of his instructional books. Each one has 60 copy,s of his pictures that if were framed would look good in any home. But I ask you, wouldn't it be better to have an original Bob Ross style picture hanging in your home that you painted with your own hands? As Bob always repeated on his show. YOU CAN DO IT!! and you really can. Find a Bob Ross certified teacher in your area and give it a try!!!

-- mickey restus (buddydobie@sbcglobal.net), November 06, 2003.

I was able to buy an original Bob Ross and Steve Ross painting by contacting WIPB last year. I was hoping to bid on one during their yearly auction. They did not have one last year but did put me in touch with someone who was selling the two paintings I bought. Both paintings were painted on tv during series 24. They are suppose to have a painting available during this years auction, which should be coming up this month. And yes for the right price i would sell them.

I have a charcoal rendering of aa old boy in a hat in front of a tin cabin, circa 72, likely from an era fairbanks will never see again. after close scrutiny it appears to be on a sketch pad sheet and measures 11 1/2 X 15 1/2 it has been framed for at least 20 years in the same 18 X 22 matted frame digital picts are available of the peice and the signature upon request. this is an early one and obviously rare

I have an original Bob Ross floral painting in an intricate gold frame that I received as a gift. While it is very lovely, it does not match the decor of my home. Therefore, I am considering selling it. It does have a certificate of authenticity attached. I would be willing to email any interested parties a photo of the painting. I am researching at this time to decide on a beginning bid for the sale. Thank you for your interest.

-- Karen Battle (CHandKLBattle@aol.com), July 10, 2004.

Like everybody else here, I'm desperately looking for a Bob Ross original or a print. I understand how ridiculously hard it is to find an original by him, and how expensive it would be, so all I really want right now is a print. It is in fact one of my life goals to own an original of his, but just for right now I could settle for a print. But I simply can't find them ANYWHERE. I don't understand it. Yeah I realize he doesn't want people making money off his paintings, but if his estate simply allowed a company to make prints and sell em, they could make tons of money to donate to charity. Anyhow, considering I don't see any real answers as to where we can find prints of his for sale, I'm not expected anyone to email me with a real answer. But I thought I'd give it a shot anyways. Let me know. Thanks.

does anyone have or know a site with images of Bob Ross Paintings?

I copy the show for my own personal use (i am from Germany and the show runs late at night at an unpopular station) and want to make my own DVD covers. I find it extremely hard to locate good images on the web.

I have an original Ross painting, which has been in my possession for 13 years. (A small waterfall scene with a river in the foreground and a colorful mossy, hazy woodland in the background). To those of you who also have them and who might sell them or to those of you who have bought one, what kinds of values do the paintings have? I truly have no idea and am curious.
