Oh, sure, NOW they're going to "cooperate"

Senators Seek Cooperation As Power Shifts

WASHINGTON (Reuters) - Democrats and Republicans vowed on Sunday to try to cooperate after Democrats take control of the Senate this week, despite Republican leader Trent Lott's call for a new partisan ``war.''

Uh huh; He of the Bad Hair-Do demanded that there be "bi-partisan cooperation" when the Senate was split evenly, and then immediately went against that. Now the little moron wants it all. LOL.

And he [Sen. Don Nickles, the assistant Senate Republican leader from Oklahoma] predicted Democrats would have a hard time managing such a closely divided Senate with 50 Democrats, 49 Republicans and one independent.

``We'll be at least as cooperative with the Democrats as they were with us last January in (post-election) reorganization,'' Nickles said. ``I expect (the transition) will be orderly, but they're going to have to listen to us too. We have to listen to each other.''

More idiocy. "At least as cooperative"? The Dems bent over for the Repubs; can you picture Trent "Mr. Bad Hair-Do" Lott "bending over" to "cooperate"?

But I think the piece-de-resistance came from (surprise! NOT) Orrin Hatch:

But [Hatch] and other Republicans warned about one potential sticking point: The prospect Democrats will try to bottle up Bush's judicial nominees and keep them from getting a vote in the full Senate.

``There's a real concern on our side that there's going to be an automatic slowdown in all of these (nominees),'' Hatch said.

Well, Orrin, one can only hope that the Dems do exactly the same thing to Bush that you all did to Clinton. I mean, fair is fair, right?

ROTFLMAO.....

These hypocrites just don't know when to quit. You'd think they would have learned from the Congressional elections a couple of years ago, but NOOOOOOOOOOOOO............

Republicans Seek Bid Assurances

Let's see now; when they pretty much had the majority in the entire Congress, IIRC, it went something like, "We don't HAVE to compromise; WE have the MAJORITY". But, as is the case with hypocrites, now they want "assurances" and "cooperation". Here's hoping the Dems ram it.....

Some snips:

WASHINGTON (AP) - Republicans say they may try to block a Democratic takeover of Senate committees unless the Democrats promise they will not reject outright or indefinitely delay President Bush's judicial nominees.

Well, *I* think they should give the Repubs as much cooperation as the Repubs gave the Clinton nominees, don't you all? LOL.

[Sen. Rick] Santorum, a member of the Senate Rules and Administration Committee, said Democrats should guarantee that Bush's nominees for the federal bench get a floor vote, rather than face rejection by the Judiciary Committee (news - web sites) on ideological grounds.

ROTFLMAO....Dems "should guarantee"?!?!? And just what "guarantees" did the Repubs give during the Cliton nominees?

I really (REALLY, REALLY) want to see the Dems grow some cojones (sp?!?!) and stick it to them.

Hey, I can dream, can't I?

Of course, that should have read, Clinton nominees.....

Patricia,

Starting to worry here. Your normal politicial bent aside this rabidity is new. What happened?

-- Carlos (riffraff@cybertime.net), June 10, 2001.

Tired of the hypocrisy, Carlos. All we ever hear about is how bad and evil the Dems are. Never seem to hear about the Repubs, who are better at "bad and evil". Hell, they've been at it so long, they've perfected it.

For over eight years we heard NOTHING but "rabidity" where the Clinton Administration was concerned. Where was all the outrage and moral indignation over the previous twelve years? Two of the most corrupt administrations in the history of this nation, and not a word from the hypocrites. Hell, they want to NAME things after Raygun!!! But you would crucify Clinton for a lie about a blow. Raygun and Company sold us down the line to our TERRORIST ENEMIES, but you STILL villify Clinton for a lie about a blow job. Remember, NOT ONE of the "charges" brought about were proven true.

NOT ONE OF THEM

Of course, with the Grand Republican Spin Machine, it's kind of hard to get this point across. "Liberal Media" my ass. You're delusional if you really believe that. But I think most of America realizes it. Remember, A Majority Of The Voters didn't vote for shrub. They Voted For Gore.

If not for a corrupt Florida system and a highly-partisan Supreme Court, the Right Man would be in the White House.

As it is, we have a moron who can't even construct a simply English sentence. An idiot who has embarrassed what was once the greatest nation on earth.

And you support him.
