Raul : going to sign

greenspun.com : LUSENET : Unofficial Newcastle United Football Club BBS : One Thread

The press here are speculating that 23 year old Raul Tamudo is coming to us. He's a great player. He currently plays for Espanyol. IMO a much better player than Jeffers, skill, strength and a clinical finisher. Get him Bobby. Low profile, too. If he does the biz he could be worth 3 times the 8 mil they want.

For what it's worth, the Chronic have us down to talk to Jeffers at the weekend when he comes back from the US.

They reckon the 8 Mill bid has been accepted by Everton and it's now down to Jeffers.

I can hardly stay awake, it's so exciting. (Yawn)

Jeffers and Tamudo, would give us great options up front.

I am still of the opinion we need more alot more in midfield, if we don't then our attack will be useless, kinda like last season.

Dont underestimate Jeffers, Swift!

First he's young, talented and hungry, the ingredients most valuable to all successful footballers.

But as well as being young, talented and hungry, he shares 99% of our values and attitudes, so he'll adapt to Tyneside and inland Co. Durham easy.

Will Raul what's his name adapt easy??? Will he be another Marcelino?

8million is nowt, and I would rather spend 15million on a young player with a hell of a lot of potential who has yet to achieve, than 2million on a foriegn player who may not adapt.

Why give this talent to someone else for eight million so they can sell him for twenty in years to come when he could have a trophy winning career at the toon?

FRANKLY FRANCIS JEFFERS IS AN OPPORTUNITY TO GOOD TO MISS.

P.S. Have you really seen Raul whats his name play like you hint? I'm not talking about that square box, or what you've read, have you seen him play whilst sitting in the main stand row E? etc.

If not what are your reasons for stating he's a good player?

P.S. Im not having a go or nowt, I'm just interested thats all. :)

yep, and btw, its a great stadium, if a bit hot. Tamudo played up front on his own, supported by two wide attackers. In truth he got no support at all. He has balance, aggresion (yep) and attitude. But most of all his touch was silky smooth, coupled with quick thought he was outstanding. The defence were picking him out but he stood firm and was always at ease. At 23 he's young enough to get better, but the guys here tell me he's the best Spanish talent in Barcelona, and would be best suited to our game. I would say he's a bit like the other Raul from Madrid. If he was English, he'd be well out of our reach. I live upstairs from the espanyol offices and shop and this guy is their God. Coupled with that he's got pin up looks which according the girl next to me makes him worth a couple of mill more. Yes, he could be another Marcelino, but these are individuals...Jeffers could be another Speed or Ferguson...

"Jeffers could be another Speed or Ferguson... "

I reckon Speed has been a good buy for us, overall.

He might not have been great all the time, but 13 goals last season was more than any other midfielder in the league.
