Let's Stop Using "Archives" As it Confuses People (Forum Related)

greenspun.com : LUSENET : Countryside : One Thread

Instead of referring someone to the "Archives", let's start calling it by the title used on the forum page, "Older Messages (by category). Archives seems to have confused some folks.

Thanks,

Ken S.

Amen! When I was first new here I kept wondering what in the world evey one was talking about "archives", but I was too embarassed to ask!

It would be so helpful, even for the seasoned folks, to refer to where you can find in the archives. Most messages seem to fall under all sorts of differant catagories and seems when you find the one you are looking for it turns up in the last catagory you look under or some how miss it all together and just give up!

In that allmost all questions seem to have been answered allready in the older listings, why not put a flag in the preposting area and suggest this info is allready avaiable with instructions of how to find it?
